Prepare an Easy Lattice Crust.

Peel, core and slice 1/4" thick:

8-10 apples
|
Preheat oven to 450° F. Place apple slices in a large mixing bowl and sprinkle with:

1/2 tsp. almond extract
|
|
2 tsp. lemon or lime juice
|
|
1/2 C. raisins
|
|
1/2 C. granulated sugar
|
|
11/2 T. cornstarch
|
|
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
|
|
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
|
Stir until apples are well coated.
|
Layer apples into pie shell; dot with: |
1 T. butter, thinly sliced
|
Cover with top crust. Bake 10 min. at 450°, then reduce heat to 375° and bake an additional 35 min.
