Lazy Daze Gathering at the Maryland shore

Tuckahoe River State Park The Fall NE Lazy Daze club rally will be held on the second weekend of September (Thursday the 9th through Sunday the 12th) at Tuckahoe State Park on the beautiful Eastern Shore of Maryland (the peninsula between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean). Here's a list of people scheduled to attend.

Tuckahoe River State Park has many facilities, including a 60-acre lake with fishing and boating, horseback riding, mountain biking, kayaking, paddleboat and canoe rentals, multi-use trails for hiking, biking and equestrian opportunities, and the Adkins Arboretum, which encompasses 500 acres of the park. It also has pavilions with charcoal grills that can be rented.

Also, about 30 miles from the campground, on the way to Tilghman Island, is the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels. There is also a lot of shopping. I don't know whether RV's can park at the museum, but we'll have the answer for you soon.

We have chartered a "skipjack" sailing oyster dredge boat, the 1886-vintage Rebecca T. Ruark, out of Tilghman Island. Tilghman Island is 40 miles from the campground, which is about 70 minutes travel time. Also, we've planned dinner at a restaurant near the dock which has parking for RV's, since the dock parking is limited. See the skipjack charters website for more information. If we have more than 30 people for the charter, we can receive reduced rates. (Dinner will be extra.) Let us know if you are interested in the skipjack trip and/or dinner.

About the park

There are two loops of RV campsites; one with electric hookups and the other with dry camping. There is also potable water a few spots each loop and a dump station not far from each loop. Personally we have reserved a campsite with electric hookups - Site 16. Dry camping is $20.00 a night. Electric campsite is $25.00 a night. If anyone is 62 or older the site is 1/2 price Sunday thru Thursday.

The electric loop at Tuckahoe State Park has four cabins (A, B C, D) that wannabes may want to use. They are $50.00 a night, and no linens are provided. Each cabin is one room with air conditioner, ceiling fan, overhead light, one double bed, one set of bunk beds, a porch, picnic table, fire ring/grill and a lantern holder.

Reserve your site by calling 1-888-432-2267, or on the internet via the Tuckahoe State Park website. The website will only accept reservations between the hours of 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM Monday through Friday.

Let us know what site you've reserved. If you have any questions, give us a call. See you in September!
