Comments: No-wake lake, so it tends to be quiet. Minimal supplies are available in Henry's Liquor, Hardware and Groceries in Tierra Amarilla, but for a decent selection of groceries or a laundromat, you'll have to drive 23 miles to Chama. Worth it, though—it's a beautiful drive, and Chama is an interesting town. Don't miss the Cumbres & Toltec narrow-gauge railroad!

As of September 2014, Verizon reception has been restored, and there's a reasonably good and quite fast LTE internet signal at the park.

NOTE: if coming from south via NM 84, do not let your GPS tell you to turn left onto NM 531! It turns into a twisting, hilly one-lane dirt road, which is not fun to travel in an RV. Instead, stay on 84 another mile or so until you can turn left onto NM 95, which will take you to the park.
